Joanne Frankel Kelvin is retired from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, where she established the Cancer and Fertility Program to ensure patients are informed about options for fertility preservation before cancer treatment and for building a family after treatment. Her responsibilities as one of MSK's Fertility Nurse Specialists included education and counseling of patients, coordination of patient referrals to reproductive specialists, development of resources for patients and clinicians, education of staff, and facilitation of clinical research within MSK related to the reproductive health of cancer survivors. She is also involved in a number of collaborative research initiatives outside of MSK and has multiple publications in the field of cancer and fertility. In 2014 she was honored by the Oncology Nursing Society with the Clinical Lectureship Award for her work in this area.
