    Good Afternoon,

    After viewing the video, I believe the social worker addressed the issue with grace and empathy.  I have never been in this situation before, therefore I am not sure I would do anything differently than the SW did in the video.  I believe it was a great opening for the patient to pick and choose what and how he wanted to focus on.

    In the future, if the same scenario presents itself, I will feel more comfortable with my response.

    I agree that if the situation presents itself in the future, I will feel more comfortable initiating and following up with the conversation.


    I am glad that the patient was offered space to share feelings/emotions regarding stressors related to cancer diagnosis, treatments, and other psychosocial stressors including infertility issues.  It is very important to build a therapeutic relationship with the patient in order to enhance rapport and allow future conversations about oncofertility or other concerns in a safe environment.
