Although I appreciate the task to discuss sexual health education and STI prevention in a heterosexual female with breast cancer, I would be interested in education and opportunity to engage in further discussion around these topics in sexual and gender diverse individuals, perhaps with a less common cancer type? I have many patients with non-breast cancers who believe that “all the attention” goes to breast cancer patients. I am wondering about exploring these issues in more minority populations and particularly considering the role of “intersectionality” in gender, sexual orientation, race, SES, etc and how this would affect communication about these topics. What about a trans individual who develops breast cancer or any cancer? What information and tools would we need to provide all of these diverse individuals with appropriate sexual health education?
