I didn’t find this video very educational, it seemed as if it was missing the beginning half of the video where the actual conversation about sex and sexual health happened. In these chapters I found it most interesting to learn about sexuality at all stages of life. Working only in pediatrics, sexuality is hardly ever a concern in my patient population. But remembering that sexuality begins in the earliest stages of development can help guide conversations about sexuality in all age groups and squash the stigma that sexuality equals sex. Remembering that although a younger pediatric patient is not mature from a reproductive stand point doesn’t mean they don’t recognize that their body is changing on therapy, or that they won’t have self esteem issues or isolation issues which can set them behind in their psychosocial development.
